ABIX via COMTEX) -- Australian actor and director, Yahoo Serious, is moving to distance himself from Internet giant Yahoo! Inc. The actor, who changed his name by deed poll in 1980, wants the Federal Court to look at preventing Yahoo! from using his name. Earlier, he unsuccessfully tried to have the Australian Trade Marks Office rule that the Internet company's proposed trade marks were deceptively similar to his own. His solicitor, Andy Chrysiliou, said Yahoo was concerned that people mistakenly believed he and his company, Serious Entertainment, were linked to the Internet group. He said Yahoo!'s use of the name was impeding the actor's right to use it.
