Fed: Vaile rejects Sydney airport development
Transport Minister MARK VAILE has rejected a draft Major Development Plan from Sydney
Airport .. for the construction of a shopping centre.
Mr VAILE says his decision follows continuing concerns and issues raised by the aviation
watchdog about the safety of people on the proposed site .. and the safety of plane movements.
The centre was to be home to a bulky goods centre.
He says he also had to consider the level of uncertainty about the potential impact
on local traffic around the airport.
